At Ishan Institute of Law, we believe that meaningful legal education goes beyond textbooks and classrooms. Interaction with professionals who have first-hand experience of public institutions and governance gives students a better understanding of the practical realities they may encounter in their professional lives.
With this objective, Ishan Institute of Law organised a guest speaker session on 28 July 2026 on the theme “Justice Delivery System in India: Challenges, Reforms and the Role of Young Lawyers.” The session was led by Col. Laljeet Prasad, Director, Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Students of Ishan Institute of Law and Ishan Institute of Management and Technology participated in the session.
During his interaction with the students, Col. Laljeet Prasad discussed important challenges before India's justice delivery system, including the increasing pendency of cases and the need to simplify legal procedures to make justice more accessible to citizens. Drawing on his professional experiences, he encouraged students to look at the legal profession from a practical perspective and understand the responsibilities that come with becoming a legal professional.
The session also included a short interactive activity on focus and positive thinking, which added an engaging element to the discussion. Students actively participated in the Q&A session, put forward their questions and exchanged views with the speaker.
The session gave students a practical perspective on justice delivery and encouraged them to think about their role as future professionals. It was a valuable learning experience that connected academic discussions with professional insights and real-world perspectives.
