ßVidhi Vimarsh 2026: A Platform for Legal Debate
Ishan Institute of Law organised “Vidhi Vimarsh 2026,” an Inter-College Debate Competition, on 31 March 2026 at the Ishan Campus. The competition brought together students from different law colleges and provided them with an opportunity to discuss a contemporary issue at the intersection of law, technology and society.
The debate centred on the topic “AI Accountability: Developer, User or System?” The topic encouraged participants to examine who should be held responsible when Artificial Intelligence systems cause harm or lead to undesirable outcomes. Students presented their arguments with confidence, drawing on legal reasoning and different perspectives on the growing use of AI.
The competition was designed to develop skills that are important for students pursuing a career in law. Through the debate, participants had an opportunity to strengthen their legal research, critical thinking, logical reasoning, public speaking and advocacy skills. Responding to opposing arguments also encouraged students to listen carefully, think on their feet and present their views in a clear and structured manner.
The exchange of ideas made the competition an engaging academic experience. It also encouraged students to think about emerging legal questions for which traditional legal frameworks may need to evolve with technological developments.
Vidhi Vimarsh 2026 provided a meaningful platform for students to express their views, engage with a contemporary legal issue and learn from different perspectives. The event reflected Ishan Institute of Law’s efforts to encourage active learning and prepare students to engage confidently with emerging issues in the legal profession.
