About the Programme
Ishan Institute of Law organized a one week workshop on “Drafting, Pleading & Conveyancing” aimed at enhancing the practical legal skills of budding lawyers and law students. The event was held on 27th of February to 4th of March 2025 and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members.
The goal of legal drafting is to ensure that the document accurately reflects the intentions of the parties involved, complies with applicable laws, and can be effectively used in legal proceedings or transactions. Drafting of Pleadings involves the art of meticulously crafting legal documents that outline the facts, claims, defenses, and relief sought in a litigation process. These pleadings form the foundation of a legal case, ensuring that both parties present their positions clearly and precisely. Key documents include the plaint, written statement, replication, and rejoinder, all of which must be precise, unambiguous, and aligned with applicable legal principles. The skillful drafting of pleadings is crucial for presenting a coherent case before the court and advancing the legal dispute.
