National Lok Adalat 2026 | Ishan Institute of Law
Students of the B.A. LL.B. and LL.B. programmes at Ishan Institute of Law visited the District and Sessions Court, Surajpur, Greater Noida, to witness the proceedings of the National Lok Adalat held on 12 September 2026. The visit provided students with an opportunity to observe the functioning of the justice delivery system and understand court proceedings in a real setting.
During the visit, students visited various courts and observed hearings, gaining a closer understanding of how matters are presented and dealt with before the Court. They also visited the record room, where they were introduced to the filing procedure and learned how court records are maintained and organised.
As part of the visit, students also interacted with representatives from various settlement departments, including NPCL, banks and BSNL. These interactions helped them understand how disputes involving different service providers and organisations can be taken up for settlement through the Lok Adalat process.
The visit also highlighted the importance of amicable dispute resolution and accessible justice. Students were able to see how Lok Adalats provide a platform for resolving disputes through settlement and mutual agreement.
The experience helped students connect their classroom learning with actual court practices and gave them practical exposure to different aspects of the judicial system. It also helped them understand the importance of court records, filing procedures, hearings and settlement mechanisms.
The visit was a meaningful learning experience that added a practical dimension to the students’ legal education and gave them a broader understanding of the working of courts and alternative dispute resolution.
