A. About the Law Program

What is the full form of LL.B. / B.A.LL.B?

  • LL.B. stands only for Bachelor of Laws in English. In Latin, the abbreviation is expanded as Legum Baccalaureus.
  • B.A. LL.B. is a combination of Bachelor of Arts and Legum Baccalaureus. B.A.LL.B. is a 5-year integrated course which can be pursued after the 12th standard, i.e. 10+2.

What is the academic qualification/minimum eligibility criteria to apply for LL.B./ B.A.LL.B ?

  • B.A.LLB is a 5 years integrated course for which minimum qualification is 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks in any stream (Science/Commerce/Humanities). This course will save your 1 year if you are determined to make a career in the field of law.
  • LL.B. is a 3 years post-graduation degree course for which minimum qualification required is Graduation in any stream (Science/Arts/Commerce etc.) with minimum 50% marks.

Is there any age bar/restriction to take admission in LL.B or B.A.LL.B?

No, there is no age restriction/bar to get admission to LL.B / B.A.LL.B.

Which official statutory bodies have approved these courses?

Ishan Institute of Law is affiliated to Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut (State University) and approved by Bar Council of India. Ishan Institute of Law is also accredited by NAAC.

C. About Hostel Facilities

Is hostel facility available for students?

Ishan has separate Hostel accommodation for both Male as well as Female students within the Campus boundaries itself making it a safe and secure place to live in for students across the nation.

Is the Degree of B.A.LL.B/ LL.B. received from Ishan Institute of Law a valid Degree?

Yes, both the B.A.LL.B. and the LL.B. Degrees are definitely valid Degrees. These are valid throughout India as the Degrees are been given by the Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut (A State University under the Government of U.P.) through Ishan Institute of Law.

Where can I practice after successful completion of the B.A.LL.B or LL.B. from the Ishan Institute of Law?

Students can practice in any State of India after the successful completion of the B.A.LL.B. as well as LL.B. Course from Ishan Institute of Law by registering oneself as an advocate under the State Bar Council and taking the membership of local Bar Council of India (BCI) and .

One has to qualify on a mandatory basis the All India Bar Council Examination (AIBCE) held twice a year within 2 years of the date of registering as an Advocate.

D. About Admissions and Scholarships

Can I take admission in B.A.LL.B or LL.B. after completing my 12th from open schooling like NIOS or UPSOSB?

Yes, you can take admission in B.A.LL.B as well as in LLB after successful completion of 12th from an open school which is recognized by the Ministry of education or any other appropriate government body.

The minimum percentage required for admission is 45% for General, 42% for OBC and 40% for SC and ST Candidates.

May I apply for government scholarships?

Yes you may apply for scholarships subject to the fulfilment of specific requirements of the State Government.

I belong to Bihar; can I apply for government scholarships?

Yes you may apply for scholarships in Bihar or your domicile state (subject to the fulfilment of the specific requirements of your state) after getting it forwarded by Ishan Institute of Law.

Can I get myself directly admitted to Ishan?

Yes, you can definitely get yourself directly admitted to Ishan Institute of Law by fulfilment of the required eligibility criteria.

Greater Noida is a very Clean and Green city situated in state of Uttar Pradesh which lies in the National Capital Region. It is known as education hub of U.P. and there is a very safe and healthy atmosphere in the city, which is ideal for education. The location is very beneficial for law students as District Court, Delhi High Court and Supreme Court is at a very reasonable distance, which gives ample opportunity of internship to the students.
