The Martyrs Day in India, observed on 23rd March each year, is a solemn occasion that pays tribute to the brave freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s independence. The event organized by Ishan Institute of Law on the said occasion focuses on the historical significance of 23rd March, the activities conducted to honor the martyrs, and the impact of their sacrifices on the country’s struggle for freedom. A total of 40 students participated in various performances like singing patriotic songs, giving speeches on patriotism and other performances for the event. Martyrs Day on 23rd March is associated with the execution of three prominent Indian freedom fighters—Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar, and Shivaram Rajguru—by the British colonial authorities in 1931. These revolutionaries were active members played a crucial role in India’s independence movement. Their martyrdom inspired countless others and left an indelible mark on India’s fight for freedom.
